Cotswold Chine School
We are the structural engineers for this sports halls and classrooms complex, which is partially sunk into the ground for planning reasons. The roof structure is a steel-CLT hydrid ‘sawtooth’ multi-pitched roof from which the side elevation echoes the gable-ended houses which are common to the locality.
A groundwoork study was carried out investigating the most economic form of basement construction, taking into consideration complex boundary conditions and gravel, clay and limestone, and a scheme which minimises expensive piled wall construction was developed.
Corbett and Tasker worked closely with Architect Thomas Pentzek to develop the scheme pre-planning.
