Edinburgh Temporary Theatre

This temporary demountable theatre was designed using an innovative modular temporary works system call Modtruss, fabricated from aluminium plate.

The modules bolt together using a standard repetitive bolt pattern and support a lightweight composite rigid cladding system. The roof structure can be assembled at ground level and a system of in-built pulleys then lift it into place to minimise working at height.

The Theatre was designed for the Pleasance Theatre company for annual use at the Edinburgh Arts Festival, and for use in London for the remainder of the year. Corbett and Tasker worked closely with Triple E and Konstantinos Korakakis Architectural Design to realise the project.
