Emerson College
We have been working with Emerson College for many years, most recently as they redevelop their educational buildings and re-purpose their large site near the Ashdown Forest.
The site currently contains student accommodation, classrooms, and associated infrastructure; the Westwood building is a 4-storey load bearing masonry building which was successfully converted to residential use. Walls were removed and in some places replaced with steel ‘picture frames’ and other isolated steel members and carefully considered, asymmetrically-supported steel balcony structures were erected externally to provide external amenity space for the new flats.
