Lonsdale Square

Lonsdale Square was constructed in the mid-1800s in the Gothic Revival style. The works to 22 Lonsdale Square involved the extensive refurbishment of a Grade 2* listed private residence.

Work included strengthening works and the removal of the structural timber stud central wall at ground floor level, which supported the floors and roof above. The structural solution is a rigidly jointed steel ‘picture frame’ which mimics the structural function of the removed wall and distributes the loads to enable them to be re-supported by the London Stock brick wall in the basement below.
