St Leonard's Court: Countryside Properties
We were the engineers for this 71-unit, award-winning residential development for Hackney Council, which was completed in 2019. The scheme featured a substantial basement constructed close to a fragile Thames Water trunk sewer, which limited the permitted ground movements to less than 10mm, and tight up to the highway and site boundaries. The structural frame is reinforced concrete, with a 4-storey, a 6-storey and a 9-storey block.
The finished development includes a generous roof terrace and courtyard gardens. In 2021 it was nominated for Inside Housing Development Award in a number of categories, including Best Affordable Housing Development and in 2020 it featured in the Hackney Design Awards on the People’s Choice shortlist.
